Suggestions on Ways to Tame Your Wild Hairs

Looking for alternative methods to tame difficult moustache hairs? This page is dedicated to tips for grooming moustaches. If you want to share your own grooming secrets please send us e-mail and we will gladly include your ideas.

"I usually groom my moustache after my morning shower. First, I vigorously brush my moustache with a natural bristle brush to help shape it; then I apply my wax. Sometimes, when I find that my moustache doesn't want to cooperate, I use a hair dyer to warm the wax after it is on my moustache. I heat one side of my moustache for 10 seconds or so and then I hold the end of my moustache to the shape I want until the wax cools, which takes another 10 seconds. Then I do the same to the other side. I apply more wax if I feel more is needed."

"I was browsing thru the site & read your grooming tips, thought I’d share mine, seems easier that using a hair dryer and burning my face.

"My girlfriend Susan pointed me to a 1” flat iron that women use to straighten their hair. Thought it was goofy until I tried it, now it has a permanent spot in the bathroom & goes with me everywhere when I travel.

"I shower & shampoo the stashe then do my other routines. I then rub enough wax in to get it controlled, usually not much, comb it into shape, twist it and then take the flat iron, start at the beginning of the twist (closest to the mouth) close it and draw it away to the end turning it slightly on edge to get a nice curve. I’ve found I can get a subtle or as big of a curl as I want with this. I use it on the high setting and have been doing so for at least 3 years now. Keep wondering when the flat iron is going to crap out & I’ll show up to work with a funky stashe!

"Ever since I started with the flat iron I have very few bad hair days, even when it is funky from sleeping wrong & I didn’t shampoo it…(on Saturday mornings) the flat iron will make it presentable with a little effort."
