"When I was 18, I went to New Orleans for Mardi Gras and stayed 2 years. During that time I worked for a nightclub chain called 'Your Fathers' Moustache'. Most of the employees grew a moustache or beard and I was no exception. I tried many different waxes (although there weren't many choices at the time). Pinauds (today Clubman) was just too greasy and not stiff enough. I settled on wax made by Max Factor which was sold in theatrical supply stores. Even that wasn't quite right.

It's further proof that what seems like an improvement (the softening agents which smell like garlic and the lime extract to cover-up that smell in the Clubman product, which never stiffens enough to be very effective) often ruins a product. "I do lots of different things. One of them is serve as a deputy for the county Sheriff. In that role it's important, indeed required, that I look very carefully groomed. No mustache hairs can stray below my upper lip. If they do, I have to trim the mustache. The thought of one of those stubby, bristling smears below my nose is repellent and depressing to me.

"Your product holds my moustache where it needs to be with ease, comfort, reliability, and strength. Reliability is important. I can't stop in mid-task and adjust the cookie-duster. It would sort of ruin the mood if, while telling a suspect that I need him to keep his hands where I can see them, I had to tidy my mustachios. After searching through handbags, briefcases, and baby bags at the courtroom door, I don't want to be moving my hands anywhere near my mouth or nose until I've had a chance to decontaminate them.

"With Wild Hair I know the mustache is staying where I put it. This is not true with other products. Other products offer either comfort or security. Either I feel like I have a wad of shellac weighing down my lip and threatening to crack if I smile, or I feel very comfortable, until a mustache hair gets caught in my teeth. "In review of of the product: I found the brush doesn't work well for me, but a basic comb does the job; The wax is much easier to apply if it's warmed a little (like putting the tin in one's pocket); And I want to put my vote in for a non-scented version. I know that you find the musk works well, but my wife doesn't like it. I think I would be happy with the "raw" smell of petroleum jelly, beeswax and lanolin."

"I'm a dive instructor with a thick moustache. Moustaches and dive masks don't mix all that well - it's impossible to get a good seal and you're faced with a continually leaky mask. I would just tolerate it until the water level reached my eyes, and then clear it. I refuse to shave a line above my moustache for a seal, which is what a lot of guys do. Prior to using your wax, I'd tried silicone grease, generously loaded into my upper stache, and it was always goopy and greasy. Looked like I'd had a big sneeze, and no kleenex. I'd also tried a product called 'Mask Seal' which was marginally better than silicone.

"Due to the high wax content of your product, and the fact that it doesn't dissolve with water (like Pinaud or some other wax I got in Switzerland), it makes the perfect mask seal. Doesn't look greasy. No more leaking mask. I've even begun carrying a tube in my mask box along with my defog.

"Oh, yeah. It does a great job of keeping the wild hairs in line!"

"I rarely get this enthused about a product, but your mustache wax is something special! I've tried three others with no good results. The best I could do before was a combination of slimy (and expensive) Clubman and hair spray! You've hit on just the right formula. With the same application, I can choose the softer western style handlebar which I prefer, or go on to a curly villain or barbershop quartet style. I was concerned that, because my hair is so dark, that the wax would show. But, no, it just disappears! (Again, 'neutral' Clubman looks like I've got dried ice cream on my 'stache, and the colored stuff gets all over everything. How do you do it?)
